Halloween Night

We had sooo many trick or treaters this year! People were actually driving into our neighborhood in trucks! We ran out of candy by 7pm and poor Eric had to make a mad dash to the store for more. It was tons of fun though! Here's pics of Mr. P and Ozzy in the costumes and a few of our front porch all gussied up for the big event.

BCD Halloween Party

Check out the creative costumes! We had the state of California, characters from Saturday Night Live, Hugh Hefner and a Playboy Bunny just to name a few!

The State Fair

I love the State Fair! Corny Dogs, Fried Oreos, and Funnel Cakes - need I say more?!? This year, I found a new favorite - Fried Cookie Dough - Oh my gosh, it was delicious!

Bathroom is Finished!

Well, I got a little behind in chronicling our bathroom adventures, but it doesn't really matter because it is COMPLETE! Yay!!! The last picture is our "inspiration" picture from Pottery Barn. I think we got pretty close! Check it out!

Construction: Day 2

Today started with our guys sanding down the walls and existing ugly blue tile (that we found under the linoleum!) in order to prep it for the new tile going in. This caused soooo much dust! The "Day 2" picture below is written in the dust it left on our dresser. I am heading to Lowe's tonight to buy a new air filter b/c I don't want it to collect in our AC! Next, they ripped out the rotten studs and replaced those with pretty new wood. They also cut all of the tile for the floor. We are going with the slate look on the floor so hopefully, it will turn out great and be worth all of the headaches!

Construction: Day 1

I decided to chronicle our construction journey over the next couple of days (hopefully, it doesn't turn into weeks!). Who knew we would completely gut our master bath after only living here for a couple of months. Today, they ripped out the old shower (tile, Hardibacker, and shower pan), ripped out the linoleum, and moved our toilet and sink into our bedroom. They also jackhammered our foundation and moved the drain from the corner of the shower to the middle (where apparently, it was supposed to be in the first place!) Thank goodness we have a second bathroom!

Our new cat...

We swear that our sweet dog has turned into a cat! Check out his new favorite sleeping spot...on top of the couch cushions! Just like a cat!

Ozzy goes Swimming!

Ozzy's new favorite summer activity is lounging by the pool! He LOVES it! Check out the pics of him diving in to play a game of "water fetch!" Peeps on the other hand, HATES the water! Check out the pic of Mr. P swimming as if his life depended on it....(I know, it's probably cruel we threw him in, but I wanted to make sure he could swim!)

What's my name again??

The craziest thing happened to me yesterday. I finally made it to the DPS to get my name changed officially (about time, I know!) and the lady at the counter misspelled it! So, now I am Amanda Ware.

When I pointed it out to her, she let out this huge sigh (like I was inconveniencing her!) and said she would put an "Edit" on there so it would be right when I received the real thing.

The "Edit" consisted of a Post It note attached to the paperwork she sends to Austin. We'll see what happens with that. I might be Amanda Ware for life!

The Boys

It was pointed out that there are no pics of Mr. P and Ozzy on here. What a travesty! Here they are! (Just for you Suena!) =)

Home Improvements...

We've been pretty unluckly on our voyage as new homeowners, to say the least! Most of you know about our first flood that we had right before we moved in...we are now on Flood number 2! Lucky us! This time, it was our shower in the master bath. No worries though! We are on the road to getting it repaired and we may add some upgrades while everything is ripped apart (depending on how expensive everything is!). I now know more about shower anatomy than I ever wanted to know so if you have any questions about yours, I may know the answer! Hahaha! Here's a few pics of the flood and construction in progress. We actually have a HOLE in our bedroom wall right now, YIKES! I'll post some after pics when we get everything sorted out...

Honeymoon

Our honeymoon to Thailand and Singapore was spectacular! Thanks Pat and Vanna! =) We started with a week and Singapore and were able to see some fantastic sights! We visited Chinatown, Little India, The Night Safari, Sentosa Island, and Fort Siloso. We also ate some delicious food - Singapore is famous for their street vendors, called Hawker Stands, and these have the best food in Singapore. It is also an immaculate country. It is illegal to chew gum because they want to keep their streets clean. For the most part, Singaporeans are extrememly feriendly and LOVE Americans.

Thailand is the extreme opposite of Singapore in terms of cleanliness! It is definitely a poor country, but they make up for it with friendliness. We were so impressed with the Thai people! They were eager to please and grateful for your business. The beaches in Thailand are absolutely beautiful. We went to the Phi Phi Islands (pronounced pee pee) by way of speedboat. This was one of the scariest rides of our lives because of the winds and choppy water! We made it in one piece though and were able to visit Monkey Beach, the beach in the bay where the movie The Beach was filmed, and the beautiful island of Koh Phi Phi. We also visited a Muslim Gypsy Sea Village and the island where the James Bond movie The Man With the Golden Gun was filmed.

It was an amazing trip and a great way to end our wedding festivities!
